iMul builds deep-learning and multimedia-processing methods that work with images, video, audio and text: understanding what the media contains, extracting the information hidden in it, and generating new media, often for Indonesian languages, faces and places.
Our major theme is intelligence multimedia: deep learning and multimedia processing that let machines understand media, extract information from it and generate new media.

Pixels and frames: recognise what is in them and measure what changes over time.

Sound and voice: classify it, transcribe it, pull apart overlapping sources.

Words, especially Indonesian: read the sentiment, condense it, generate it.

When one medium is not enough: fuse image, sound and text into one model.
Classify, detect and recognise what the media contains.
Pull out information that is not written anywhere: a count, a transcript, a heart rate.
Produce new media: enhance it, separate it, summarise it.

Nothing here yet. This is a gap we would like a student or partner to take on.
